Are you tired of trousers that don’t fit you properly? One of the main problems in the reenacting community today are trousers and other articles of clothing that look and fit nothing like the originals did. Pattern makers, in an effort to fit more people, will often use patterns from later eras, or more modern construction techniques. The results are an incorrect fit for the period, or that dreaded ‘gaposis‘ between the trouser and waistcoat, or even buttons falling off and seats ripping out!
To solve this dilemma, the best thing to do is go back to the period sources, and draft your own patterns. In this online class, I will teach you step by step how to draft a basic pair of civilian trousers, based on Devere’s system of cutting from 1866. Used in conjunction with your preferred construction methods or with my upcoming masterclass, you will see a good improvement in regards to fit and authenticity.
Included are a set of graduated rulers, measurement and drafting spreadsheets, and of course the step-by-step instructions on drafting a pair of mid-19th century trousers. Registration is absolutely free!
